IMPROVEMENT TO OUR SAME DAY TREATMENT SERVICE |
| |
We do, however, constantly review our services to see if there are any further improvements we can make. As a result of recent feedback from patients and staff, we have made some slight alterations to the CSDS service. From now on when you phone Reception, you will be able to directly book an appointment to see one of our Practitioners (Nurse Practitioner or Paramedic Practitioner). You will also be able to ask them to phone you back if you require advice. In case you are not aware, these Practitioners have undergone specialist training to enable them to advise on most minor illness and minor injury problems, eg sore throats, chesty coughs, earache, eye problems, urine infections & simple limb injuries to name but a few. One of our Nurse Practitioners Judy is now also qualified to prescribe medication. The Practitioners have been with us now for several years and provide an excellent addition to our team. The Practitioners always work under the supervision of a duty Doctor, so if you believe your problem cannot be dealt with by a Practitioner, Reception will ask you to provide brief details and the Duty Doctor will phone you back. Once the Duty Doctor has spoken to you, if appropriate, he/she will arrange to see you at the surgery. We hope these changes will improve access to our Duty Team and avoid the need for too many people to wait for phone calls back from the team. We are always keen to hear your views on the service and would be very grateful for any feedback you can give us. |
