Telephone advice

Wherever possible we now take messages and get the doctors to call you back when they are available. It is helpful if you can give us a few details about why you need to speak to the doctors so that they can take the most urgent problems first.

If you need to speak to your doctor then try to call the secretary after 10am and before 12 noon. Be sure to make it clear if you feel the need to speak to the doctor urgently.

If your own doctor is away please consider whether you can wait for your own doctor to return your call or whether you need another doctor to speak to you.

Doctors return most calls at the end of their surgery. If a call is urgent they will call back between seeing patients.

Please call back if you need further advice, your problems get worse, or the problem becomes more urgent than when you first requested a call.
